I've noticed the compressed output selections (positions 4, 5, 6) have considerably less output than the non-compressed options (positions 1,2,3). I'm wondering: is the norm for these? This is the only RM model with built-in compressor I've had a chance to play and I'm surprised to find this is the case.

Otherwise, she's hands-down the finest electric 12 I've come across. I've played many and currently own a 1992 360/12 and a 2018 660/12, both of which are excellent instruments. But this one has a special quality that outshines the others.

I'm grateful to have her and she'll certainly see plenty of stage time.

Regards,
~ Steve

Yeah, I think the batt is good: 9.17 Vdc and a ton of compression. But the IC is an NTE 996, which can't possibly be the original. I'm going to install a CA3080 and see what happens...

put in the CA3080, but finding the NTE996 works just as well in this design. More details in this post: "Improving the E1 Circuit in a 370/12RM". viewtopic.php?f=44&t=415876
