1985 360/12 - TI Flats Truss Rod Adjustment

Post by akpasta »

Just put TI flats on my 1985 360/12. The action got higher. That happens because of more tension but to try the easiest thing first I lowered the bridge which didn’t fix it (buzzy around 12th fret, but action still high near the nut).

So I must need to adjust the truss rods. I get that you adjust them both evenly. What tool do I use? Do I go clock or counter to tighten the rod? (Is it lefty losey righty tighty?) should I loosen the strings first? How many turns at a time before re checking?

Thank you!!!

You are correct on lefty loosey etc. Try 1/4 turn, wait 24 hours, repeat if needed.
