Hi y'all. I haven't been around much lately, as I've been in a prolonged adventure down the Telecaster rabbit hole. I was more active several years ago and bought my first Rick (360/12 JG VP) in the marketplace. And now I've bought my last Rick (at Guitar Center Hollywood). Oh, and I just realized I need to change my signature line, because I no longer have the 330 MB, or the 660/12, or the 4001c64. I got off the 12er train, picked up a 4003S JG that I love (after a brief affair with a 4003 MG), sold the 330 in a downsizing operation...
...and now there's this: THE LAST GUITAR I WILL EVER BUY. No, really.
First of all, I love vibrato tailpieces. Secondly, I love that this one has had a refret that left the board free of goopy clear coat. I didn't really notice this until the second time I went in to play it, and now I realize it was one of the reasons I bonded with her. Call it a mod or a mistake, but for some reason, someone left this much-played, much-babied guitar in a state that speaks to me and my hands. And, of course, my ears.
Anyway, she's basically as old as me, and wears her age decidedly better than I do...
