After several months of waiting, this arrived from Larry Davis.

As a longtime Beatles fan, and someone interested in a diverse guitar arsenal for songwriting and recording, getting a Rickenbacker 360/12 seemed a natural move. However, lefty models with vintage specs (21 fret board, old-style body), are exceedingly rare (not produced in decades since the V64 ended) and quite expensive when they do pop up. Rickenbacker had not made any lefty C63s after almost two decades of production so I was not optimistic about them having a change of heart.

My situation seemed hopeless until I realized that there were talented folks such as Larry doing Rickenbacker customization work. He took the neck and some other components from a right-handed 330, built a new body (among other steps), and voila! My dream Rickenbacker 12 string. The upside down headstock was a desired choice, being a classic feature of vintage lefty Rickenbackers. The volume knobs are push/pull so I have the option of having a .0047 tone cap in or out of circuit, allowing for vintage or modern sounds.

I've long admired Rickenbacker guitars, but now that I own one I can see why they have such an astute following despite the 'quirks' such as unusual wiring or string spacing. I'm very pleased to join the Rickenbacker club! I anticipate many tunes will be coming out of this one.

Looks very nice. No doubt you will enjoy it.

Playing a 12 string Ric is the most fun you can have playing a guitar. Even more fun is when you start placing a capo in different spots up and down the neck of a Ric 12 string. Get a capo on that and have some great fun.
