Black & Silver Oven Knobs

Post by sloop_john_b »

Hi all - a friend is looking for some black & silver oven knobs. Does anyone have a source for these?

Thanks!

They don't exist.

A guy at this forum a few years ago found a company that would manufacture them, but the manufacturer required an order of something like 500 or so. You want to pay for 500 knobs when all you need is four?

That was years ago. They didn't exist then, I don't think they exist now.

Thanks for that. I had seen this set on an old Reverb listing and thought someone may have had a line on more.

That's a good find. Even though it says these are no longer made by Rogan, why not send them an e-mail? You may get lucky with some new old stock they might have around.

https://www.rogancorp.com/

These black with silver oven knobs have been searched for by many of us. To no avail. As I said, one guy here was looking to see if he could get enough buyers in order to meet the manufacturer's requirement of a 500 or so batch. I guess he didn't get enough takers so he never put the order through. I'd have bought a set.

But don't be put off by the brown/gold knobs. First off, the brown is just about black. From a distance of a foot or two they really do come off as black. Secondly, you can always go with gold pickguards to match the gold insert in the knob (look at my picture below). Or, thirdly, you can just paint the insert a silver. Model paint would do it. Heck, you could even just spray the brown knobs black. Krylon or something that adheres well to plastic.

I bought some from Angela Instruments years ago.

www.angela.com

I don't see them listed on their site now but maybe it's worth a call or email.

I should have picked some up when they were available.

If someone finds a source, let it be known!

That sounds like 10X more work than just looking around for black/silver knobs (which clearly exist, contrary to your earlier post), and painted knobs will never look right.

Unfortunately not: “John, Long gone. I don't know of any of those for sale on the secondary market.”

To close the loop on this, the friend that I was searching out these knobs went ahead and ordered 500 direct from Rogan.
