Can you truly call that a Ric?

Intriguing, but more of a Frankenbacker, isn't it? That said, I'd love to see a few clearer images of it.

No, it's not a Rickenbacker at all. These are colloquially called "Crockenbackers".

Most famously played by Tim Rogers of You Am I - lots of photos and YouTube videos out there of him playing these, and here's an old thread: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=105101

Another famous copy is the one Philippe Dubreuille made for Gem Archer.
