325JL

WHEN WOULD A 325JL WITH THE SERIAL NUMBER WO4578 HAVE BEEN MANUFACTURED? i WAS TOLD THE GUITAR WAS MADE IN 1998 BUT SOME OF THE SERIAL REGISTRATION PAGES SUGGEST 1983

Can't be 1983, because they were not even announced until 1991, as far as I know. Maybe 1990. Certainly NOT 1983 if it is indeed a 325JL. Nice guitar!

Tim,
This would be W0(zero) not WO, and means October 1997. BTW there is a serial no. decoder on the RIC website in the service section.

Tim: There is no "WO" prefix but as Tony says it is W0(zero). You can put your serial number into the decoder at the Official Rickenbacker Site.
