Attention Transonic owners

If you own a Transonic 100 or a Transonic 200 (or are lucky enough to own both) I would like your help.

I am trying to find out the height and length of the Rickenbacker logo note on each. In the pictures of these amps the 100 note appears larger. If you own a 100 please take a second and measure the height and length and let me know. If you own a 200 please do the same. If you own both . . well you know.

My T100's are missing the note but here is my T200.

I think that they are the same size.

Thanks Dave, that helps a great deal.

The note that I received from Ron is 5 1/2 inches across where yours is 4 inches and 2 1/2 inches in height where yours is 1 7/8. So the 100 notes are larger than the 200 notes by 1 1/2 in width and 5/8 inches in height.

That means that I have a larger note (one made for a 100) and would like a smaller note (one made for the head of the 200). Would anyone like to trade?

Hi Bob! On the subject of Transonics, let all owners know that if their power meter is damaged or defaced, I have them brand new, reasonable. Hope your restored Transonic came out alright.

Tracy, please PM me with cost. I think I would like a back-up knowing how hard they are to come by.

The restoration came out wonderfully. Bob Rissi did a great job of raising this one from the dead. The grill clothe is faded, but outside of that and not having the small note for the head everything is great -- all lights and switches work as they should. I haven't had the guts to turn it up over 3 1/2 yet, but it sounds clean and strong. The fuzz tone is exceptional.

I received my meters today. Thank you so much.

For the record, the meter was identical to the one in my T100. However, not the same as the one in my T200.
My T200 meter has the "red zone" taking up 25% of the face dial. The T100 has the "red zone" at 50% of the face.

That's not to say that my T200 meter is 100% original to the amp.

Bob -- ask Mr. Rissi if the meters were the same for both 100 and 200 watt units. I'll check to see if any of my meters are 'different'. Thanks again.

And Dave -- I left you an eMail. It'll be interesting to get to the bottom of this meter mystery. There needs to be a Transonic owners support group, y'know, like they have for Pontiac Fiero owners

Will do Tracy -- It'll be interesting to see what he says. FYI -- The meter in my 200 that Bob Rissi restored has a 50% red zone. Did he get the meter from you Tracy?

It looks like this meter was used in Bob R's 1972 line of solid state amps as seen here.

Looking at the 1968 (8-1/2" x 11") full size catalog, the meter pictured on the T200 kind of looks like mine (I think). However the picture is too grainy to be sure.
