Rickenbacker M and B series amps

Post by tomsvintage »

HI , I Tom @ tomsvintage, I have a collection of Rickenbacker amps that I started using in the late 70's. There are mostly M and B series with one Transonic 2x12 combo. My first Rickenbacker amp was a B-16a 4x10 combo that someone had left at a rehearsal studio. I inquired about it and got it for a great deal. I've been hooked to the great sound ever since. I just joined the RRF today. I have a bunch of pictures that I would like to share :D

This amp needs some TLC. The amp works but is weak. One of the original 12" Utahs has been professionally reconed. I have tried to get some of my technician friends to work on it with no luck. A friend gave me Bob Rissi's # but I haven't called him yet.

Welcome, Tom! I love the pictures!

I need to get some better pictures of my M-22 Brilliante one of these days ...

Welcome...they are underrated. I'm the current caregiver to a b16a combo. It is a two owner amp. My cousin bought it new in '64 along with a RM1997 (which I also am the current caretaker of). It's loaded with 4 Jensen 10 inch speakers. I believe this combo is based on a Bassman combo setup....
Great amp, and the tremelo is to die for!

Welcome Tom! Love the amps. I've got quite a few Rickenbacker amps in my collection too.

I love these amps! They are so under rated. Too bad there are so few of them about.
My favorite are the 1950's M-11 with a single jensen and two 6V6 power tubes.
I have two of them so I can play my Ricky guitar in stereo!
