A good syringe solder sucker. Andy, Mojo is just starting out. A dummy load box seems reasonable. JMHO, Art

Mojo, I''ve neglected some of the basics. Hemostats or forceps, alligator clips, stainless steel pick, lint-free precision brushes, and cleaning chemicals. I use Caig brand products; D5 Deoxit(for cleaning pots, sockets, jacks, etc) and a G5 product(whatever the current name is) as the shield and preservative for the same parts. Usually get my stuff from AES http://www.tubesandmore.com. With all due respect to Andy, I would forgo the more serious equipment, for now. Even my variac gets very little use. A light bulb current limiter is a worthwhile build project. Actually, using the speakers as the load, affords you the advantage of the "pop" test. Yes, it's old school, but very effective. JMHO, Art
