Hi
Anyone have any idea what this might be out of? it is an early rick horseshoe with wide magnet - has normal output came out of a electric tenor guitar but i dont think it was original to the guitar. I am new to the forum so please give me some advice if i shouldnt be posting this here...having a few issues navigating the site havent found a classified section yet?

Hi Gordon, welcome to the forums! :D

Without seeing a photo of the pickup, it's difficult to tell but from the date you give, it's certainly possible that it might have originally come from a Rick lap steel (aka a "Frying Pan").

I've recently installed just such a pickup (although probably not as old) into the bridge position on my 4001 V63, with very impressive and satisfying results. They're great pickups!
