Ric RB55 Amp

Post by mtlbasslad »

Hi all, first post here

Glad to find this site, now the question - I have a Ric bass amp labeled RB55, serial# ZS 004961 - can't find any reference to this model. I should mention that the model number is just a stick-on thing...

Any clues? :?:

Posting a photo of your amp would probably help members to identify it...

1978 4002 Walnut
1986 4008 Silver
1999 4001 V63 White

Using the Register Search, I would surmise the Z in the serial number dates it to 1986.

There is no RB55 listed as a model however... :?

Some pics would probably be helpful.

And Welcome to the RRF. :)
Watch those teeth, Marlin. I'm not sure we've properly sedated the beast . . .

With amps you need to delete the first two zeros to get the correct SN.. So ZS4961 will work in the RIC SN decoder.

There is some info on the later RIC amps at this link. http://jzu.free.fr/rick/amp/TRR.html

No details on a RB 55 - perhaps ask John Hall over at the RIC Corporate forum.. :D

No idea how to resize with iPhoto, but in case you don't know, max size is 1280x1280...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Who knows?

But looks like an early version of the RB series. I have a 1986 RB/RG catalog and it does not included a RB55. It looks the most similar to the RB60, so would assume its a 55 watt version, rather than a 60 watt RB60. Might even say RB60 under that sticker.

Both are very rare, but most RIC amps are not highly prized.
