Model RB60 Versus TR50

Post by admin »

Tracy: Can you tell me what the difference was between the RB60 and the TR50 Models?
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

The TR50 and the RB60 were both self contained 'combo' style bass amplifiers with a single 15 inch speaker in a sealed cabinet. Other than the fact that they are in the same power class and shared certain cosmetic features, that's pretty much where the similarity ends. The TR50 is real 'trick' in that it has two separate preamp channels accessible from a single stereo input jack. That way, you could plug in your stereo Rickenbacker bass using a single stereo cord and control each pickup separately from the front panel without using one of those clunky and expensive Rick-O-Sound boxes! The RB60 has two inputs into a single preamp, however it boasts the addition of preamp/out, power amp/in jacks. Overall, I like both of these amps equally well, where alot of power isn't required. Rickenbacker really knew what they were doing when it came to bass amps!
Show him the shirts, Adrian.
