The following error is driving me around the bend. Please let me know if you have a solution.

It occurs each time firefox is closed.

In which folder does regcure.exe reside? Did you install Regcure yourself, or did it come installed with your computer? If either of that is yes: is it uptodate? If not, might be spyware disguised as regcure.exe - depends on the file location, really.

Yes, there are various malware programs that disguise themselves as regcure. regcure.exe is not a Windows system file and is not necessary for operation of Windows. The real regcure is written by ParetoLogic and is supposed to be a regisrty cleaner that seeks out and repairs registry issues that cause performance issues or stuff left in the registry by spyware.

Even if you have the real one, and actually want it, it looks like you are running WinXP. If you installed or updated RegCure recently, it may not be compatible with something as old as XP. XP is reaching the end of it's life and soon will not be supported by Microsoft (2014), so a lot of other programs are starting to drop support too, or at least not keep things up to date as well as they would for a current operating system...

Thanks guys. Regcure was part of the solution in this instance rather than the problem. An incompatible newer file it would seem along the lines suggested by CJ. So far so good.
