Is that TRC original?

My nephew's 63 Model 1000 (pictured) has the white TRC and I think I've seen pictures of earlier ones that also had the white TRC too.

you'll have to ask one of the experts. I just saw it on ebay and thought it would be a cool thing to post. Thanks for the pic

Adam, the Model 1000 are cool guitars. The one pictured was my less than $100 LA garage sale find. After having a proper setup, the pots cleaned, new strings installed, & case handle replaced, I gave it to my then seven-year-old nephew back in 1998.

I'd say that with the exception of the knobs, the ebay guitar looks okay. Pretty cool.

The chrome parts and the metal logo plate could use some replacing/cleaning. Other than that, it looks amazing.

I'd say with the exception of the bad refinish it looks...

Well it still looks bad. Image

LOL John! I concur, looks like a refin at some point...

FWIW my '67 950 has an original Jetglo finish that was sent out the door w/o a final buffing, I can only describe it as 'rough/shiney'....but it's factory.

Joking aside, the challenge with a black refinish on these old ones is that they often are hiding some sort of damage...
