I hate to break anyone's heart, but the Rickenbacker 12 string in the Grammy Museum(first time i've heard of it) never belonged to George Harrison. George was given a Rickenbacker 12 string by the president of Rickenbacker (this Rickenbacker can be heard in the song "If I Needed Someone) and it was stolen during one of the beatles' tours, sharing a similar fate to Paul McCartney's 1961 hofner which was stolen during the filming of Let It Be.

Also, does anyone know the model of Rickenbacker played by Tony Hicks in The Hollies official promo film for "The Air That I Breathe" from 1974? It is on youtube.

Scotty, I think it was a great introductory post. If you or anyone else doesn't like it, fair enough. Thanks for the info about which Rickenbacker Tony Hicks was playing.

Clint, I don't think George ever had another Rickenbacker 12 string. I know you and everyone else will think that is stupid, but i can find no evidence that supports that George had two Rickenbacker 12 strings. I'll happily admit i'm wrong if anyone can prove i am.

A simple viewing of the film HARD DAYS NIGHT and the 1966 Tokyo Beatles Concert... Both of which are easily access able online will demonstrate the absurdity of your assertion... Trust five generations of Beatle nerds who have been obsessing about those two Rickenbackers ever since...

If you haven't found any such evidence, then you're not looking very hard.

The two Rick 12-strings GH used have totally different body styles. Even though they were the same color, it's not that hard to spot. I found the links below with one Google image search.

I was going to simply post "troll," but I think Graham wins post of the day.

(And yes I realize it's entirely possible our new friend here really just is that misinformed, or more appropriately underinformed, so "troll" would be speculative and potentially unfair.)
