George was given a Rickenbacker 12 string by the president of Rickenbacker (this Rickenbacker can be heard in the song "If I Needed Someone) and it was stolen during one of the beatles' tours, sharing a similar fate to Paul McCartney's 1961 hofner which was stolen during the filming of Let It Be.

Also, does anyone know the model of Rickenbacker played by Tony Hicks in The Hollies official promo film for "The Air That I Breathe" from 1974? It is on youtube.
George played Ed Roman knockoffs, I believe. Jimmy McGuinn turned him on to the electric 12-string and referred him to his Vegas luthiers.
