Anyone ever hear of a "Vintage Custom"???

Post by Funky Chicken »

I found a 620-12 online that is being described as a "Vintage Custom"-it is a "new" guitar being sold without a warranty. It's got toasters on it.
Google turns up nothing on this option and neither does the Rickenbacker website.
Can anyone fill me in on what the story is with this guitar?
Thanks!

Appears part of the story is, it is being sold by Olivia's Vintage, who is not an authorized RIC dealer. Hence, they cannot sell it with a warranty.

I really think it is a stunning guitar, though!

I liked the look of that guitar but prefer the Checkerboard Binding and wider neck of the 660-12 anyway so my plans haven't really been thwarted...

Just like that one!
I keep coming back to the 660-12FG and unless a COTY lands in my lap that is what I will end up with.

The 620-12 "Vintage Custom" is up again (same one) at Olivia's for the reduced price of $1790: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2011-Rickenback ... 23196e8aec

Because it is a special factory feature maybe one more option in the register should be added. We are not talking about an ordinary "VPied" guitar... It is more a "modern feature", equal in importance like V63, C58, WB and so on.

Dear admins, maybe an idea to think about it...
