My new 425 Rick! 1960? Any help appreciated... -Newby

Post by c.wulf »

Hello! Here is a picture of my newly acquired Rickenbacker. I absolutely love this guitar! I am ignorant as to it's exact age etc... It is 4C 424, and I see that it is currently registered as being in Oregon, but I'm in Bakersfield, CA. I will register it as soon as I verify that it truly is a 1960 425. As you can see, this one is incredibly clean. I believe it to be all original, but am not sure. My concerns are the pickguard and definitely the washer under the switch. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you all for a wonderful forum! ~C

I don't see anything that would make this guitar not original. The washer under the switch could be a repair because the hole in the guard became too large for some reason. You could take the nut of the switch and find out. The guard looks original in the photos, though there is no substitute for in-person inspection. Have you taken the guard off to check the pot dates?

Nice guitar. Just PM admin to have the guitar registered as yours.

I agree with all the other comments. A beauty here, I like the thick-body 425s. Congrats. :D
