Fun new fact about convertibles

Post by jdogric12 »

So I just realized (stop me if I'm wrong or this is old info) that the tiny comb-retaining screw was not added to 336's, 366's, etc until April 1967. GD2xxx appears to be the first one in the RRF register that has it. I'm talking about the tiny headless screw that keeps the comb from sliding toward the floor while not in use.

Jason, can you perchance circle it on a picture, for the lessbright members like me who fail to get which headless screw you mean? :D

Well done Scotty, thanks!

The "grip" between my 336's comb and rail is pretty tight, so the retaining screw's not necessary, but if it were well lubricated, I could see it being a potential issue.
