Lightshow Update

Post by kennyhowes »

So hey, remember this?
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=68180

So I did some minor maintenance that I thought I'd share.
My 331.
My 331.
First of all, as you can see, I put some of those goofy DR colored string sets on it. They were on sale, and I thought it'd be funny.
331 headstock.

Secondly, I acquired a first-generation neck hi-gain pickup, and as the HB-1 that was there is needed elsewhere, I wired in the vintage one. It sounds great (14k!) and the string spacing is surprisingly right on.

And, as discussed here:

...I changed out the power supply connector to a right angle version.

And everything else is working like it should!
Lights off...
Lights off...
...lights on!
...lights on!

Mentioned elsewhere, but still looking for a bridge position transitional hi-gain that won’t break the bank. Like so:

Bump for the pickup. Working or not.

Also, using D’Addario NYXL 10 strings at present.

Try XL115 or 115w (wound 3rd g string) 11-49. Better downforce over the bridge for better tone and sustain, with minimal increase in overall tension.
