RIC Content on Jay Leno

Post by johnhall »

Check out Jay Leno on Wednesday, Nov 5th. I lent out a couple of my personal guitars to support some friends and I hope we'll all be pleasantly surprised.

It's one of those International Date Line things...
Or maybe a time warp or something...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Yeah, tonight, the 6th, sorry. Of course, I didn't say it was THIS year . . .

Well, it IS possible they might be scheduling things for next year...
Of course if you had a time machine, you could go back to 2008...

Where's Gary?

I recognized that acoustic. :D

BTW, my 84 year mom liked Tired Pony better than she did most of the "country stars" on last night's CMA awards. This is from someone who saw Hank Sr. In person.

You probably haven't seen that specific guitar. While it's a twin to the one Jason Feddy uses in Hautewerk, this one normally resides in my studio and is set up for more traditional playing action and records beautifully. Jason's is set up for very aggressive playing as he really bashes a guitar pretty hard.

Peter really loves the guitar and desperately wants to hang on to it but I also rather enjoy it too so I don't know what we're going to do!

Yes, Gary Lightbody has wanted to some country music for awhile but his bandmates in Snow Patrol weren't quite so keen on the idea, so he chose to do this on his own. Ironically, he brought in some of the earlier members of Snow Patrol into this band before adding Peter and Scott. It's definitely a more mellow country sound, palatable to those on both sides of the fence.

There were country stars on the CMA awards? That hasn't happened in years!

Nice song and the RIC sounded great. Like the song, I told a girl once I'd treat her better than her boyfriend and she said, "Yea, but he's rich." And that was then end of that.

Very nice. Thank you for that.
The song is great and it's cool to see Peter Buck back on a stage with such a beautiful guitar...
I've even noticed Richard Colburn of Belle & Sebastian (one of my favourite groups) on drums.
