Playing with the band Cracker on a parade float

Post by Slackdaddy »

Hello all, I am pretty new here so forgive me if I posted this In the wrong place. I thought I would share this video of me playing my newly acquired '89 4003 with the band, Cracker while riding on a Christmas parade float:

This section's perfect! 8) Sounds great, Bryan; I used to play this song in an old cover band of mine. love the simplicity but power of it. Nice family oriented lyrics, too. Usually!

Thanks, it was a lot of fun but also somewhat scary. Had to really focus on keeping my balance. Yes, some lyrics had to be changed due to the family friendly nature of the event :D

Well, it looked like there was a runner keeping pace, just in case you had to fall into her arms, something I wouldn't have minded!

Great sound from that 4003! I've always like that song...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Thanks so much! The day after the parade, I spent the next 2 days in the studio with them. I played on about 4-5 tracks. It was the first recording session with my 4003 (man, I LOVE that bass). It was a fantastic experience. Great songs and great players.

Nice job! I love playng parades. Massive crowds and lots of energy feedback. The balance thing can get really exciting. After the first one we did, we started using headset mics. That helped... Got to use the"Rock Star" stance... Better balance. 8)

Jeffrey, I am not sure of the full chain but I played the 4003 through a vintage Ampeg B-15. We recorded at Chase Park Transduction here in Athens. Drew Vandenberg was the engineer.

When do we get to hear some tracks? I bet the transduction was great, too. I've never been transducted, before!
