That's Linus of Hollywood (Kevin Dotson) on bass, and not Juan Alderete; Linus was the bassist for Gilbert's "Space Ship One" album and tour.

Juan Alderete was indeed the bassist for Racer X and The Mars Volta, but he is not the bassist featured in this video.
If you watch this entire live video performance from the beginning: is says "Linus of Hollywood."
