Here's Bottle of Wine, the Tom Paxton song the Fireballs covered and were promoting when the shot above was captured. I have no idea if the bassist was using his low-slung Rick on the recording:

I've been into their instrumental stuff for a while and recently started paying attention to Jimmy Gilmer's vocal's with the band. 1963 album Sugar Shack on the way. It's a two'fer combining with Jimmy and the Fireballs' tribute to Buddy Holly, Buddy's Buddy. The Fireballs were a Norman Petty act. Gilmer remembered looking through a window into the studio floor while Buddy was pounding out some Little Richard on the piano. Bottle of Wine made them a lot of touring cash playing frat houses throughout the country.
