I saw R.E.M. in Cologne on May 5th. Peter used the 360, the danelectro 12string, and a Les Paul. No 330, as far as i remember. His amp was an AC30. I was told he uses a Rat pedal and a rackmounted backwards delay or reverb unit.
By the way: Is there any more difference between 330 and 360 than the rounder body, the bindings, a bit more in lenght(sound?)

Actually, there is something somewhat special... the neck shape of his original 360 (made somewhere between '74 and '81 when he got it) had a thicker neck shape, which was only made for about 10 years or so (if I'm not mistaken.) Peter prefers this neck shape to others RIC has used over time.
As for differences between a 330 and 360, they sound different, because the 330's acoustic chambers, inside the body are somewhat bigger.

One man's tone is another's worst nightmare.
After reading this thread, here's what I'd come up with for the Peter Buck "Signature Series" that will never happen.
1) Only available in Jetglo
2) Neck is wider "older style"
3) Inlayed with the famous trucker mudflap near the sound hole
4) Comes with stock 13-56 guage strings (another Buckism...Markley's)
5) The obvious Peter Buck signaute with his little John Lennlon "face" drawing thing he does under his name on the pickguard
All in all, it's still a pretty "stock" instrument, but you know there's the demand for something like that from Buckheads like myself.
Foor for thought.

Peter would probably find it really funny that there are a good number of Ric players around who would like a guitar just like his.
Food for thought.

Here's a possible continuation of Corey's listing:
First, an amendment:
3) your choice of Mudflap girl or skull & crossbones (pics from '84 to '92 show the guitar with this sticker) and with or without let's active sticker on lower horn.
additionally:
6) Schaller straplocks standard.
7) optional missing silver "cap" on the bass volume knob (the closest to "relicing" that should ever appear on a Ric.)
a replica of that super-funky "casino" beaded guitar strap (the one you've seen Peter using with the guitar for the past several years.)
9) '70's/'80's style model name on the trussrod cover with raised lettering.
10) black tolex plush-lined case.
11) coupon for free case of Budweiser (to complete the Peter Buck experience)
Now I'd consider the design of the 360PLB (Peter Lawrence Buck) complete.
I sorta already have a replica of his, but it's a 1990 model set up with the correct strings (sold by DM as a "DeTuning" set,) the mudflap girl, and the missing knob cap (I switched the knob from my '83 4001 to the 360, so I didn't have to break anything on my #1 guitar.)
I don't consider myslef obsessed, just artistic.
