I would think connecting the hot of the pot to the hot of the output jack, and then the ground to any ground point would work.

Think about just bypassing it if you don't need it, the decreased load-down may give you more "jangle", whereas wiring it in as a master volume just retains it as a redundant tone-suck.

Easier to try detaching the 5th knob than replacing all the pots--it's a quick mod, just give it a chance first and you might thank yourself for doing so.
