Ric vs Fender repair

Why can't the guy just admit that he's not a Ric repair guy? no shame in that

I'd say he's been doing a few beers too. Everything he is pointing out as a negative I consider a positive. He lacks imaginative problem solving - if it isn't what he's used to with his Precision, then there is no other solution. He even admits he's broken the truss bar and neck glue and now just found out the correct way to adjust the old rods. Sigh.....

That video has made the rounds here on many occasions.

Taking the idea at face value, Fenders are easier to work on and more people will know how to service them, which may or may not be an important fact depending on the player. I set-up and service my own guitars so it is not a problem for me.

Once a Rickenbacker is set they are one of the most stable of instruments around. And if you can set a Rickenbacker, you can almost set anything!

This guy doesn't even know half of what he is saying most of the time (I've watched some of his non-Ric videos too). You should see the lengths he goes to so he can adjust a reissue P Bass truss rod (taking off the entire neck) without a single complaint about the design.

Yeah, taking off the whole neck maybe numerous times and restringing and tuning and repeating until the action is right is a great design, according to him. And we ***** about intonating a Rick.

He rambles a LOT too, which I figured was TMBs.

The one where he takes the neck off the P Bass with a scrunchie wrapped around the strings just to keep the whole thing from exploding..? Not a peep about that one.

I also laughed when he talked about each pickup having its own output jack on a Ric.

I could never finish watching this video, even for the comedic value. His babblling on, not knowing what he's talking about just gets annoying after a few minutes.
The JETGLO finish name should be officially changed to JETGLO ROCKS! :-)
