Small parts question

Post by cassius987 »

Anyone know the size of the screws used to hold a 4003 bridge pickup bobbin and magnet on the baseplate? I seem to have lost some of mine.

Okay. Do you happen to recall the length as well?

Man...That's a toughie. Between 1/4-3/8". I think you're gonna need to take one out of a pickup and match it at the hardware store to be sure Joshua.

So it turns out with some additional help I found out these are 6-32 x 3/4'' machine screws. Quite easy to hunt down if anyone else has the same problem in the future.

Are they really that long Joshua? I'm surprised that the pickups are threaded for them to go that deep.

They have to go through the pickup, magnet and baseplate.

I'd forgotten about that. I only have RIHS bridge pickups on my Ricks, and the screw is much shorter since it only has to go through the base plate, shoes, and part way into the bobbin.
