4001 bridge route dimensions

Post by basshead »

Does anyone have the dimensions and radiuses etc for a 4001 bridge route? I want to plug the damage in the Wreckenbacker bridge route then re-route it back to standard dimensions.

I believe they are sort of non-standard. You would need to estimate/eyeball it.... obviously by practicing on scrap to get the dimensions right before you cut into the plug. Don't forget to leave a nice 1/8" +/1 gap under the bottom where the 3 screws go - otherwise you won't get any tail lift! :)

Wayne...It's been awhile since I've done a route for a 4003 style tailpiece (I've put a few on 4004's) but one thing I do remember is that I used a nickel for the radius at either end of the bridge route itself, and that from outside edge to outside edge, it was 84-85mm long. I can't remember the dimensions for the mute route.

Now why would you want to do that to someone's trees?

Why not measure the tailpiece and route to fit.

Thanks for the answers guys. Sorry I haven't replied sooner but I'm in Scotland on vacation - warm it is NOT!

I could leave the bridge route as it is as no one would ever see that it's been butchered before but I'LL know it's there, lol. I want to repair it back to "standard".
