381 6 string conversion to a 12 string

Post by jeff381 »

I've got a chance to buy a 381 6 string at a very sweet price,but I'd love a 12 string,is it a major operation to convert it??,I've had a 381 12 string in the past,but sold it,been kicking myself ever since.Any input would be most welcome

A 12-string headstock is much longer and wider than a 6-string. It's a major, major operation.

Is the 6-string is such a sweet deal, buy it, flip it and buy a 12-string with the proceeds. Believe me, it will be much easier and much better in the end.

plus: these guitars come up for sale quite often and have reached a very affordable price level recently, as low as $2300 on Ebay for decent examples
