What kind of multimeter do I use and what setting for shield

What kind of multimeter do I use and what setting do I use on it for copper tape shielding conductivity test?
Or is it OK to just copper shield my 4003 bass and not test?

A simple VOM (Volt Ohm Meter) will work for checking resistance between components (I assume that you would be soldering a lead between the shield and the ground on the potentiometers). For resistance measurements like that, the lowest ohm range would typically be used because the resistance between common grounds should be close to zero.

This is useful information for me to have as well, because I am currently trying to shield a P-J Precision bass I'm putting together. The kit I got from Stew-Mac indicates that must ground each cavity shielded, and that I need to test the connectivity of each piece of copper foil shielding to make sure they are all connected to each other. Since I have only limited experience with an Ohm Meter!

Use the Dawson DDM 181 auto range with sound. Dirt cheap and works great!

I looked it up, found a listing on
Amazon and am impressed enough that I bought one.
