And Now For Something Completely Different

Post by kiramdear »

My latest brainfartstorm is nearing completion, thanks to the kind indulgence of our resident Curmudgeon who let me talk him into something way off the beaten Rickenpath.

It won't be ready to show for a few days, but I wanted to pique your curiosity. Okay, I enjoy torturing you, I admit it. Watch this space and prepare to be amused and amazed. It should be ready any day now. :)

Okay I'll give you a clue: it's fireglo, but with a twist.

Meanie, teasing us like that!

Fireglo with a twist? Reverse FG? A spiraling FG, aka Vertiglo?

Is it a Ric at all, or another brand?

We need to educate the vintage guitar dealers on this technical term, as it seems they all say things like Fendergibsonmartin and Others which is clearly the opposite of how it should really be in today's guitar market.

+1!

Looks like something Rick Nielsen might own, but I've never seen him with that one...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

It's my 330/12 wearing a Photoshoped paint job (much easier than a real paint job - no stinky fumes, tedious masking or spray guns to clean out). On a real 330 body you could wrap the stuff around the sides and back as well and wind up with some really wild, op-art distortions.

It would go well with my Photoshopped 4003.

Oh I LOVE that! From the 1968 RIC catalog design!

Paul Weller if he'd taken the time to position his stickers more carefully
