Wet Speakers

Post by whojamfan »

I had a leak in a shed where I was storing 10 speakers of different makes and values, and all of the boxes got wet and some of the speakers are soaked. Am I up the creek here, or is there a fix, or does anybody in the LA area want a bunch of speakers they can futz round with?

Mike: I guess the question would be how much water for how long? Were these speakers doped as well which might make a difference? All this said, water and paper is not a good combination. :(

Dry them out by putting absorbant material next to them and then take them for a test drive.

I suspect that you may be fine with some of them.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

These guys here in Orange County will fix you. They are simply the best:

I can't tell you how many speakers we've had repaired or upgraded by the folks over the years.

Thanks John. I know these guys are top notch, but the speakers I have are a bunch of Wharfedales out of my AC30 and AC15 and a few other low end ones that would cost more to fix than I could sell them for.
