4005 TG update
Thanks for the multiples of advice I got from RicCon07 attendees regarding my 4005 - adjusting the bridge did indeed make a lot of difference, and as soon as I can get the proper files, I'll work on the nut slots as well.
It's not terribly far off from being a multi-purpose force to be reckoned with.

Re: 4005 TG update
You lost me Joey - was there a Fender amp at the SoCalCon?
Re: 4005 TG update
Kenny, i thought the tones out of your 4005 were just great - it sounded ballsier than others I have heard/played. Have a wonderful holiday and a great New Year!

Yeah, I brought the RIC RB-120, but somehow a Fender Rumble 60 wound up being the stage bass amp at the hotel.kennyhowes wrote:You lost me Joey - was there a Fender amp at the SoCalCon?
The JETGLO finish name should be officially changed to JETGLO ROCKS!

Sounds cool Kenny. Actually, I have no idea if 4005's even have the cap to begin with! Obviously the bridge pickup is pretty thin sounding, but I always chalked that up to it's placement. So do they have the cap stock?

Re: 4005 TG update
The couple of O.G. 4005s I've played through an amp seem like they do. Biscuti?
Re: 4005 TG update
According to this RIC schematic, they did.

Kenny, did you ever get the files to lower the strings at the nut? Dane has a set, maybe he can fix you up.

I'll have to have Dale bypass it for me - I don't think i've ever heard one without the cap, then!

Re: 4005 TG update
I was going to revive the thread on TI strings that I thought was in here somewhere, but I can't find it. Anyway...
Thomastik Infeld Nickel Flatwound Bass JF344 strings on the green monster. Oh MAN.
That, plus a bit of set-up tweaking (truss rods and bridge), and this thing is unstoppable.
That is all. Thank you!
