SoCal 2008...Thanks for the Memories!

Post by windchimp »

Joey, Diane, Gary and countless other friends both old & new...

A great big "takk" for a great time and lasting memories. Of course, there may be some of us who would prefer to forget a few things (or already have!)

The venue, the people and the Ricks were spendid. My ears are still ringing from the jam last night!

And now, I must practice.

If it was really that good the proper usage would be tusen takk.

Just saying. :D

Looks like you guys had a great time. Hope the West Coasters can make some of the upcoming East Coast events

Hey, I just hope that some of us over here can make them, too!

While I was at work today I received a long distance phone call from Alison, Gary C, Paul W, Kenny & Deb, Aitch, Joey, Paul A, Graham and some crazy Asian chef (who shall remain nameless).

It was great getting to talk to everyone and to hear your voices again. I spent the rest of the afternoon aimlessly pondering why I made the stupid decision to stay in Melbourne this year. :(

I guess I'll have to make up for it at MARF in November, and for those on the West Coast who can't make to MARF, don't be surprised if I drop in on the way back to Oz for a beer or three!

Diane, Joey, Gary --

You really did a lot of hard work in organizing the Confluence and it is really appreciated by all who attended. Many thanks for your efforts beyond the call of duty !!

The world of Rickenbacker enthusiasts is a better place, because of dedicated folks like you !

My hats off to you for making it a great weekend.

Regards

Oh Paul that was one of about fifty choices.. and if you ask Graham today I bet he still can't pronounce your name!! What a great time. Thanks for the offer for the ride to the airport we managed to find a few goodies for the kids and make it to the airport in time.
I think I love you all more than Graham or Aitch! I miss you all already. It seems as though we just arrived and all to soon it was time to leave. Graham thanks for the taxi service. That trip was great, you know the fishing one, the Hollywood one, the trips out to eat.. it was a great weekend!
Joey I hope you enjoyed your birthday! I know I did!
More pictures to follow after Steve wakes up. He will have a late night again tonight. Thank you all again. Oh by the way we made it home safe and sound. Arrived 15 min. early.. I think the pilot was speeding....

I want to extend my thanks to Diane, Joey, Gary, Paul, and all of the others who were responsible for putting SoCal 08 together. It was a memorable weekend and I had a lot of fun. It was great seeing old friends (and I'm not talking about age) like Brad, Richard F., Charly, Tammy & Steve, Paul W,, Erik, Aitch, and Graham, as well as making news ones, like Lefty Mike, Dan, and Wes among others. I know I left some names out and for that I apologize.

Well, I guess I’ll take this opportunity for my first post on this forum. I’ve been reading posts here (what some of you call “lurking”) for some time. I officially joined just a few days prior to the Southern California Confluence to get a better feel for the event but felt is was better, as a newbie, to remain quiet. I DO post from time to time on the Rickenbacker Corporate Forum under this same name.

So why am I posting now? To say THANK YOU!

I know what kind of effort goes into planning this type of thing and I had a great time at the Confluence. Great people, great music, great guitars (and basses), and DRINKS......sweet. Thanks to Joey, Gary, Paul, Richard, Eric, and everyone else that made me feel welcome. I look forward to more fun in the future.

As some of you know I now have a Paul W. Lightshow conversion so I shouldn’t be hard to find....or am I?.... Back to lurking..............

Big thanks everyone!

Had a great time, despite only being able to do Saturday afternoon it was fantastic.

Nice meeting many of you, and I'll see you at the next event!

Cheers,
