It was Trotty's first ever NYC subway ride. Look how exited he is!

Ooo, bad for the environment to scare people away from public transport like that

Don't let those subway pictures get out or we'll see a spike in new car sales

On Wednesday we travelled to Winchester, Virginia and stayed a couple of nights at the Nancy Shepherd House Inn, owned and run by David McLaughlin, a fellow Forum member and Rickenbacker enthusiast extraordinaire. The Inn dates back to the early 1700s and was in a substantially dilapidated condition prior to David commencing work on it. David has spent the best part of twenty years carefully restoring the Inn, using period-correct building techniques, paintwork and furnishings. The end result of David's labor of love is a most charming and relaxing place to stay. In fact, the restoration is so good the Inn looks like it's always been carefully maintained.

The basement of the Inn is home to the Tater Hill Tavern, where David hosts guests with a fine selection of boutique beers. We had a couple of nights of laughter, drinking and story telling.
