No, the friend I'm staying with is having a big birthday bash on Saturday. If he wasn't, I'd be there, but I don't want to be an ungrateful guest.

What could be a better bash than MARF for one's birthday? 8)

Speaking from a RIC enthusiast as my self and having the great experience of having my birthday at this past SoCal confluence (SCARF), surrounded by many great friends and guitars, there is nothing better. :D
But I suppose Erik's buddy spend lot of $$ on beer, food, entertainment and more beer, if he's not a RIC enthusiast like we are, I guess he'd rather stay at his own party.

Dang!

I just saw this and I was out in Orange county today too! Did anything happen? Hope you had a good time.

My band (currently called SyniCal) is playing this Saturday, November 29, 2008 from 9pm to midnight at Mill Creek (used to be TB Scotts) here in Corona. It's off the 91 at Lincoln if you're in town for Thanksgiving come on out. There is no cover. It is a dinner restaurant and it has three rooms. Two of the rooms are for DJs and dancing. The third room is for live bands.

The place has a nice turn out from what I hear. The more people that come and tell the place they are hear to see the band, the more likely we will be invited back.

Here is the working setlist for this weekend so far:

1. Lynyrd Skynyrd - Gimme Three Steps
2. Kinks - All Day and all the Night
3. Chuck Berry - Johnny B Goode
4. Weezer - Buddy Holly
5. Rolling Stones - Jumpin' Jack Flash
6. Cars - Just What I Needed
7. Steppenwolf - Born to be Wild
8. Jimi Hendrix - Purple Haze
9. Romantics - What I Like About You
10. Green Day - When I Come Around
11. The Ramones - I Wanna Be Sedated
12. Journey - Any Way You Want It
13. ZZ Top - Sharp Dressed Man
14. CCR - Bad Moon Rising
15. Billy Idol - White Wedding
16. Elvis - Burning Love
17. Cream - Sunshine of Your Love
18. Van Halen - Pretty Woman
19. Doors - Roadhouse Blues
20. The Cult - Wildflower
21. Elvis - Little Sister
22. Elvis - Jailhouse Rock
23. Everybody - Route 66
24. Jerry Lee Lewis - Great Balls of Fire
25. Lynard Skynard - Sweet Home Alabama
26. Bon Jovi - Livin' on a Prayer
27. Boston - Rock and Roll Band
28. Guns & Roses - Sweet Child O' Mine
29. Tom Petty - Free Fallin'
30. Def Leppard - Pour Some Sugar On Me
31. Pat Benatar - Hit Me With Your Best Shot
32. Billy Idol - Dancing with Myself

A smorgasbord of music from the last 40 years. I'll be rocking with my 4003 and 360-12. Maybe I'll use my 660. Haven't decided.

Double dang it!

I could have come on Wednesday AND my gig today was cancelled! Apparently the club/restaurant owner has been booking gigs without a city license and got busted. Likely story. Anyone else have this pulled on them? I am going to go the restaurant to see if the guy instead double booked bands and went with what he thought would be the bigger draw.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I just caught this thread and would have been into coming and contributing to the room....and seeing the Trotmeister. In the future, any SoCal events that come up should also be forwarded to those on the SoCal e-mail list used for organization of the local Confluence. These days, with my internet access limited by the Barracuda web filters at work, I don't get the opportunity to be on all day like I used to.

Ouch. Sorry Dane. That's my fault; I organized the minicon, but I did it only here on the RRF; I didn't think of using the So Cal email list, and in fact, I didn't have my computer email contacts set up with a So Cal Rick Forumite list. I just finished setting up a contact list with all the so cal names on it after reading your email, so it shouldn't happen again. Sorry you missed out. I'd wondered why I hadn't heard back from you here on the RRF. We're shooting for another minicon right after NAMM. Trotty won't be there, but we're hoping that out of towners Graham and John Biscuti can make it. :D

Guys,
I'm going to be down in Califony between Dec 19th and January 4th, so if anyone was thinking bout a mini/micro confluence I'd be up for it, I've only got my 75th down in CA but would be happy to bring her along.

Rgds to all
