I guess not.
The world is made of stories not atoms and every guitar has a story.

Oh well, SureFin Custom Coatings will be there, with one finished guitar, one relic'd guitar, and some business cards. Oh, yeah, and a ton of Ricks to try and make some MONEY!!!

The show was, well, interesting! We handed out lots of cards and met lots of folks curious about having us refin their guitars, so hopefully a lot of work will come out of that. Sales were absolutely abysmal though. Nobody had any money, surprise surprise. I don't know how many people I talked to who wanted something, found a killer deal, but still didn't have the dough. It was really sad.

On a positive note I did get to meet Paul Mutchler, that was very cool.

I did sell the March 73 4001 JG, and purchased a dead mint '89 330 MG/BT with an amazingly thin neck. I also got me an Eko P15 Ekosynth (very rare keyboard) and a Casio DG-20 Digital Guitar, as seen on Flight of the Conchords.

The guy with the Casio was walking around about an hour before the show closed on the final day. I saw it and made a beeline for him, asked if he was selling it, (yes), and asked how much. He said "$100, that's what they've been going for on ebay" and I had a c-note under his nose before he could finish the word ebay. I did a search today.... he was a little off on his estimate! :D

I got to hang out with Andy (Wints) and Chris Clayton from Pick of the Ricks and simply had a fun weekend out of town while Tampa went crazy without me for once.

Oh and I'll be getting a 4004Cii from POTR this week.... in Trans Green!!!!!!!!!!

No, but it was not exactly photo worthy. Imagine a double bound 200 series Rick with gutting for a Kahler vibrato, loads of wear, and a missing pickguard. He was into it for way too much and couldn't come down any lower.

Sorry Jason - a January visit wasn't in the cards this year but I may keep an eye out for a good deal on a flight to Tampa/Sarasota in the near future - cabin fever's setting in!
Hey was that guy who was trashing RIC and selling fakers last year back again?

I don't know if it was the same guy but there was a booth, a guy who was never in his booth, his elderly mother was there the whole time watching it for him, and all he had was about 7 or 8 fakers. One even had one of those fake silk screened TRC's that fooled me and Andy. Only later when I went back and looked closer could I tell it was fake. What garbage.

Please come to SERF, Steve!!!!

Jason, thanks for the shout out. It was good meeting you too. I look forward seeing you at SERF.

This years Orlando show was pretty good. Saw many vintage Ricks. Played a '66 or '67 Mapleglo 360/12(Didn't bother looking at serial #). Saw a pristine '67 Fireglo 335 and a very nice '66 Fireglo 375. Of course many nice Ricks at Chris', Pick of the Ricks booth.
