Either there was a filler strip covering the truss rod cavity or there was a very thin layer of fingerboard wood covering it.
I saw no open "slot" so that wasn't an issue.

After a few attempts of other guys holding down the body while I held the neck straight to tighten the truss rod nuts, the "quick and dirty" method straightened the neck best.

Well,

I can state that the neck repair by Steve was a COMPLETE & TOTAL success!

It plays well, and feels great!

A great clinic, I always wondered how this was done.

THANKS for all the hard work and time Steve!

Those wood clamp guards were amazing, even contoured to fit neck....just too cool...worked like a charm!

I now have another PEAVEY in my small collection! I know how you guys love 'em!

Now that I'm home, I must give a BIG THANK YOU to Jdog. He really worked hard to have a great confluence and it was definitely worth making the trip for, I'd do it again!!
It was a pleasure meeting Paul M, Nick, Andy W Tony, the Garner boys and Jdog's band mates in person for the first time.
Of course it's always great to see Tammy, Steve, JB, Paul B, Graham, Jdog and John Minutaglio.
I must also give a BIG THANK YOU to Tony, Janey and their family! They opened their home to Diane and I and they could not have been better hosts. They have two great kids that I'm sure they are really proud of!! Geez, I haven't eaten that much food in a long time. Especially Thursday night when Tony's mother was over and made chicken parmigiana. Oh man, she must have put over a pound of spaghetti in my plate plus the chicken parm, Italian sausage and arangini (Italian rice balls)!! You don't say, "That too much" to an older Italian woman when she fills your plate!! Then after all that food, came dessert which was fresh made struffoli and zeppoli. Tony's mother also had an egg custard pie, to which we had to finally say BASTA!! (Italian for enough). I definitely gained a few pounds!! Now diet, I must!
Tony, I hope all your Ricks are okay after my grubby mitts were all over them!!
Tony and Janey almost didn't get rid of Diane and I.
