McRAC

Post by jimk »

Would there be any interest in any sort of Rick Confluence in the Mid-west? OK, I'm thinking of Lawrence, KS actually...college town, population approx. 100K, plenty of pizza joints, plenty of java joints, best beer between the Canadian border and the Gulf of Mexico and west of the Mississippi River (Free State Brewery) good restaurants, and also the home of the Americana Music Academy, Lawrence's answer to Chicago's Old Town School of Folk Music.

Free State Brewery? Does that mean the beer is free? That might be enough to tempt me to drive 1200 miles to get there...

When are you scehduling the Lawrence area Confluence to put it on display :) :) :?: :?:
Afterall, half the Forum has lived and breathed this saga with you ...
Seriously, we are all very happy for you.

You know, a McRAC (MidContinent Rickenbacker Appreciation Confluence) might not be such a bad idea. What does it take to put one one? I think I know one watering hole that might do, called the Jack Pot Saloon in downtown Lawrence.

JimK

Jim -- regarding "what does it take to put one on ...." suggest you review the Confluence FAQ thread and the steps outlined by Paul A.

Jim -- if somebody was on business trip visiting clients in Kansas City, for example, how far would it be to divert oneself to Lawrence, KS for a weekend of Confluencing ?  :)

Can you give us the geography - and distances, flight times or driving hours from regional airports like Dallas-Ft. Worth, K.C., St. Louis, Memphis or Chicago ??

JimK,

When were you thinking of doing this? I have an unemployed nephew Jayhawk living in Lawrence, with a spare bed room. How can I help?
