If you don't want the name to be a "farce" you can switch some words around and give it some saving GRACE:
Great Rickenbacker Australian Confluence and Exposition (or Extraordinaire, or Extravaganza...)

Doubt I can go but, How does one go from NYC to Melbourne? I can't find flights
Re: 2010 Australian Rickenbacker Confluence - Melbourne
Step 1: Go to the airport!marc61 wrote:Doubt I can go but, How does one go from NYC to Melbourne? I can't find flights
Quantas has several dailies from JFK to Melbourne...get ready for a marathon flight - something like 20-25 hours depending on the layover (usually in LAX).
If I can swing it (and it's a big IF right now) I'll likely hop to the west coast for a few days on business then make the rest of the journey. On the way back a few days in Maui for a bit of windsurfing may break up the long flight nicely.

How is it coming guys? I wish I could say I am looking at flights but finances are bleak, grim, dreary... (get the picture) I am however still trying to figure out how to attend. Maybe Santa will put a ticket in my stocking? Maybe I will win that ever elusive lottery? or Maybe I will manage to save the money because all my bills will magically disappear! Desperately hoping to attend... but realistically the chances are not very good. But I won't give up hope until the day it begins.
Re: 2010 Australian Rickenbacker Confluence - Melbourne
Its not so bad esp on the Quantas airbus 380 . We just did it in reverse Melb to LA 14 hours .. LA to NAshville was another 4 hours I think then a hop and a skip after week in Nashville NAsh> CHi to JFK. always take a layover for a couple of nights if you can. It really helps the jet lag when you get to the other endwindchimp wrote:Step 1: Go to the airport!marc61 wrote:Doubt I can go but, How does one go from NYC to Melbourne? I can't find flights

Nor really sure at this stage Tammy. Numbers aren't great as yet. We'll have a get-together amongst the 'usual suspects' and see what the verdict is soon!mrs_brown wrote:How is it coming guys?
