Hi all,

Some of the local Rickophiles have been getting antsy for another minicon, so who's up for Saturday,April 3rd May 8th? It's the day before the Easter Holiday second Saturday in May, fyi.

We could book a noon to 8pm block , but alternately, if it's more convenient for folks, we could do 2-10 pm, or 4-12pm, or even do a six hour block instead of eight, if it's a bit long for anyone.

Feedback, questions, and the inevitable wisecracks are all appreciated.

I might be able to get Smiling face down, or the Byrds Collective to show up to do a mini set, though I might have to limit setup time for any guest acts this time!

Cheers,

Paul

Moderator edit: The date has been changed from April 3rd to May 8th. Not all of the thread titles will show this change. May 8th is the correct date.

I'm in. And I'll make sure I don't eat at a restaurant the day before!

I'm in ! :D That Saturday should be OK.
As far as time frame -- whatever works for the most folks, whether to start at Noon or 1 PM or 2PM or what have you.

Eight hour jams seem to work good, as we usually run out of time, before we run out of songs or energy.... and those EL84s need several hours running time for optomising tone. :D

And we need to give all our Mini Con Bassists sufficient stage time to get warmed up and their groove going.

Alas, I won't be able to make it to this one...my next west coast swing won't be until later in April.

Your bandmates are also welcome; They seemed to have a good time jamming with us last time :)

Since the next day is Easter, Saturday would be the only weekend option day for my band's rehearsal, so Plan B will probably down the hall from the showcase room (most likely in G) for a couple of hours out of the minicon jam time. I'll join everyone before/after.

Paul, The Byrds Collective would love to show up and play a mini set or for that matter just talk about Ricks. Just let us know what you want us to do and we're there! 8MILESHIGHER gave me the heads up on this so thanks to Rich.

I would personally like to meet everyone that I've been reading posts from for years. Let us know if we need to bake cookies for everyone.

Henry, this is the place:
Backline Rehearsal Studios
7251 Garden Grove Blvd. Suite H
Garden Grove, CA 92841
(714) 895-7345

We use the showcase room all the way in the back of the place.
