Hello! Ed and I have been real busy since saturday,we had brunch with some friends in sfo Sunday morning, spent an hour at the Ikea in emoryville where I found a bargain on a new wall oven, and then drove back to eureka. We moved ed into a new apartment monday,so that took all day, then I drove the remaining 100 miles back home to Brookings. Tired! We really enjoyed meeting everyone, really really nice group of people. I of course also enjoyed checking out the many fine guitars and basses,as well as getting to enjoy hearing them get played by a lot of very talented people! I have been swamped now since I have been back at work, but hope to get a link setup to post pix and some videos soon. San rafael is a great area,we should definitely try this again! Thanks again to KIra for organizing and to Paul W. and family for the breakfast, tour, and for letting me play his 4005 (awesome!) I hate that i missed NoM,but the bobbleheads were great, and there were a lot of great jams going all day.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Woody lost an embossed black leather strap that was last seen on Dan's JG 4001. If anyone finds it could they please let me or Woody know?

I'll go by the studio tomorrow, too.

Good call Kira, I just checked my Bass Case and it's in there (which means I'm missing a strap).

Woody, send me your mailing address and I'll send it out to you.

Well if you do, the end of July would be perfect for me. This year was a weird year and a big gig dropped into my lap that I couldn't afford to say no to. I really do need to get out to the Left Coast next summer.

...only a measly 10% ?  :)

All those great pics, and it looked like an even better time than I imagined. Wish things weren't so hectic lately!

Hey, I like that one of me in the first batch. :) Good shots of the rest, too. Thanks, Joey! 8)

That's Gabe with his face blocked by my headstock. We haven't said enough good things about his great playing. 8) :)

Too bad I couldn't slip that bass in my pocket. I don't think Dan would've missed it - much.

Kira-i felt the same-that '73 jg had a great classic feel and sound-i love it! I also really liked john's c64s with the ti flats, and joey's 4001s ....it was a lot of fun comparing everyone's axes.

I'm sitting down because I sling my guitars like Gerry Marsden, and whenever I borrow a guitar (as I did Doug's 1997), the strap is always too long for me. Playing with the guitar slung Rick Nielsen-low is really bad for both my wrists...

When you look at pics of early players of stringed instruments who are standing, they seem to always have the instrument up high. Mandolins are played nearly at shoulder level. This seems to be biomechanically friendlier.
