Re: Milwaukee! June 11-12 2011
Three pics from Bill Henshell's amazing collection....
Gorgeous flamed Carl Wilson signature model 360/12, Rare RCA 12-string, and Midnight Blue 360/12 WB
Wonderful 730 Shiloh dreadnought Ric acoustic
Sweet Ric mandolin in Fireglo, Jetglo Roger Mc Guinn signature model 370/12, and amazing 12-string Comstock that is practically the twin sister in every way to my own 6-string Commie.

Jeff Scott's 1967 330 FG, beautifully ambered with age, posing with two of his non-Ric basses, which have plenty of cool factor of their own!
Cool little rocker....

Great pics! Thanks to all of you who took and posted them. It was very nice to see those of you that I've met before, and nice to meet those of you who I hadn't.
There were some great instruments there! That John Lennon relic is too cool!
Thanks to Paul Boyer for organizing it all.
And I got a chance to see the (unfinished) first draft of Paul's book too. Looks great! Tons of great photos of Rick basses, many of which are owned by forum members including me. (Hey, I'm famous now!)
I wish I could have stuck around for Sunday too, but it wasn't in the cards this time. Glad I got to come up for Saturday though.
My Ruby 4003S (Hotrod) thanks you guys for all of your kind words! I LOVE that color! I've heard a lot of people slam Ruby on this forum because it's too 1980's, or you can't see the grain through it, or because it's red...but once you see Ruby in person, it's a hard color to not like.

My own contributions to the confluence: 700 Comstock Ric acoustic, 481 slant-fret in PW custom blueburst refin, and my one-of-a-kind 330 Purpleburst PW refin
Some details from Paul's "Rickenbacker National Forest." That flamey Blueburst is especially stunning.

More beautiful basses....
Love the "iced-teaglo" shade of Monty brown. I thought it was autumnglo at first.

Re: Milwaukee! June 11-12 2011
Two 700 Comstocks: Bill's 12-string and my 6-string.
...And what a treat it was to play that 12-string Comstock! It was every bit as wonderful as I had imagined it would be, and the action on it was EXACTLY like my 6-string. What a joy, and it amazed me that the two guitars were so alike, even though they were made two years apart at the Ric factory. Their coloring and spray pattern were identical, and both have very similar flamed maple backs and sides.

Actually, Melissa, the "midnight blue" is not, but it's a '72 refinished in a bright version of Azureglo by Larry Davis. Midnight blue is always metallic. I've never had a Midnight Blue bass. Hmm.

Very good pictures Melissa. That second closeup of Bill's CW makes the flame look quilt-like.
