Hmm. I don't have experience "flying" with a guitar, but I doubt they would let you carry it on. I wouldn't trust baggage handlers with one, either, and with the fees they charge these days, you might want to consider shipping the guitar up here and back. It would be safer and just a little more expensive. While anything you could bring would be welcome, realize that the local folk who will be driving here will have a lot to show (I hope).

I think shipping Fedex Ground may actually be less expensive than the airline baggage fees.bassduke49 wrote:.....with the fees they charge these days, you might want to consider shipping the guitar up here and back. It would be safer and just a little more expensive.

I'm thinking I would like to bring 3 guitars with me, one of them being my Ric acoustic. Which other two would you all like to see?

Purpleburst, of course! I'll have a 75th Ann. DCM 4003, so no need to bring yours.

Re: Milwaukee! June 11-12 2011
Are you sure you want to see the Purpleburst again? I could bring my other Paul W. refin, the 481 in custom shade of Blueburst instead.... and/or my 381v69 in crazy quilt mapleglo.... or my rockin' little white 615 with black trim.... or my 350v63 in factory Blueburst, or one of my two gorgeous 12-stringers: 360/12 WB in jetglo or 360/12V64 in fireglo.... and so many other choices! By the way, will anyone be bringing an electric guitar amp?
Re: Milwaukee! June 11-12 2011
I vote for the quilted maple 381!!

Melibee, I'll have two amps there, a GK 15" combo bass amp and a little Hartke 12" "practice amp" that could serve as a guitar amp. Others are welcome.
Anything you could bring would be of interest to everyone. I voted for the Purpleburst since not many around here have seen it in person. Or any of your others, for that matter. Looking forward to seeing you again!

I might bring a small Rickenbacker TR7 practice amp. Since we're coming from out of town and will be staying in a hotel, I don't really want to haul my AC30 in, LOL!

I may have missed it but what is the address of the bank we are doing this at?

Jeff, about the middle of page 3 of this thread is the address and hotel info.

Got it, thanks.
We're going to stay at the Hampton Inn, seems like the right thing to do for a confluence.

Good. As I recall when I scouted there, you have to turn into the driveway for McDonalds on College to get into the hotel. And I think College is a divided road there, so depending on which way you are going, you may have to go farther East and turn around. You'll figure it out.

From what I see there are turn lanes on College; does this look right?

That's it! So there is a left-turn pocket there. Good. See how the drive comes off the McDonald's lot?
