J-Dog and JB: Any update on you guys potential Southern Calif travel schedule(s) the end of this month, the Sept 1st weekend ? ?

I will definitely be in town the night of Sat 9/1. Flights are booked, so it's fo' reeeeels. I don't check in here often though, so pm or email me if needed. Thanks!

If I'm not playing or nose-deep in a casebook, I'll go.
There is no reason to ever be bored.

...why yes, I suppose I do have a double bound guitar fetish...

Saturday, Sept 1? I can make it to that!

What would be the exact location? The same hotel as before (the name of which escapes me at the moment....)

The old hotel was the Doubletree in Santa Ana, I don't think they have held it there for quite some time (my last one was '07).

Jim --- we are discussing potential location(s). Not the hotel. Stay tuned for details.

The less "bar"-y the venue the better for me. My wife absolutely hates loud music and doesn't drink so even just a nice dinner at Claim Jumper or whatever's clever would be fine for us. Thanks for the reception, I appreciate it!

SoCalCon this year?

OK, after conferring with a few folks and wrapping up some details, we have our next Ricken Jam-Mini Confluence event set as follows in Orange County:

= = = = = = Saturday, Sept 1st === Noon to 6 PM = = = = = =

Bombshelter Rehearsal Studios

7580 Garden Grove Blvd
Garden Grove, (Westminster) CA 92683
Tel: 714 240 7345

The event is booked at their Showcase Room under Rickenbacker Jam 8) We will share the Studio rental cost amongst the attendees.

This is not the usual place for Mini Con Jams, but is actually down the road another half mile and on the other side of Garden Grove Blvd in another industrial park complex. (Many will remember the first Thanksgiving Mini Con was held there at Bombshelter when Trottie was visiting).

Afterwards we can get some dinner. Note that Bombshelter is supplying the drum kit and P.A. system but we need folks to bring Guitar and Bass amps. As always, the golden rule of Confluences is "Bring Enough Guitar Stands" !

If we could have RSVPs for the "J-Dog Palooza" through posts on this thread thanks. And especially important to get a few drummers lined up for participating. :)

A bomb shelter has to be better than a bar, right, Jason?

The event is now also listed on Facebook:

This is not a SCARF, just a mini-jam. An actual SCARF has yet to be decided on if and when and where. Our state of indecision is still undecided.
The JETGLO finish name should be officially changed to JETGLO ROCKS! :-)
