My soon to be nine year old niece has been playing an acoustic guitar for a couple of years. My brother has decided to get her a Fender Stratocaster for her ninth birthday (yea, her birthday's two weeks before Christmas). I'm thinking of giving her a Vox AC4TV as a Christmas present. I figure it's got to better than the Pignose that he has had laying around the house for several years. Any other thoughts would be appreciated.

BTW, I'm getting off easy for her birthday. I'm giving her a tuner, a cable, and a gift certificate to Guitar Center so she can choose a strap and some picks.

Richard, while I think those Vox AC4TVs are cool, I would also consider one of these Fender Mustang amps. They get rave reviews and are priced quite low. Packed with lots of tones for when she progresses, too.
