How to make this stand Rickenbacker proof?
I would love to hang my CS on the wall like it is a piece of art
The previous owner had it on normal stands for a long time. The finish on one place of the body got a bit coloured where the body meets the stand.
I like this wall hanger.

Can I just put some clothing on the rubber parts to make sure my CS will be fine or do you think this wall hanger will be just fine for the CS without modifications?
THANKS for your input

I will probably just go for this option.
Clever product.

Perhaps you could wrap it with (untreated) cotton polish cloths for protection. Personally, when not in use, my instruments remain in their closed instrument case.

Thanks for posting this; it's just what I've been looking for, as I'd like to hang my guitars via methods other than the traditional; they seem totally secure, as the manufacturer even says you can hang guitars on the ceiling! That's one way to keep the dust off, I'd reckon!anoukane wrote: Clever product.

Any guitar will have to age.
Just stop the worrying.

I've been using these for 10+ years without any issues (discoloration, etc...)anoukane wrote:I would love to hang my CS on the wall like it is a piece of art

I too, have been using the Hercules wall hangers for all my basses, with absoluteley no issues for 5 or 6 years. Just make sure you drive the attachment screws into a stud, and they will be solid as a rock.Plus they look good and won't harm your guitars finish. Roger.

Another clever product which I've been using for the last couple of years isn't technically a stand at all: http://www.markbass.it/product_detail.php?id=54
Only fabric touches the neck of the bass so it's incapable of causing any nasty impregnation causing discolouration of the finish. As it attaches to your cab by velcro, you do need a "furry" cab, not a vinyl covered one for it to work, but at least you don't need to worry about the drummer clambering past your rig to get to his kit and sending your stand and bass sprawling across the stage in the process!

I am a big fan of Hercules stands and wall hangers but even they are not the be-all and end-all - I have had a bit of black rubber transfer from one stand onto the side of a headstock, of a Gibson L-5s. YMMV.myrtbass wrote:I too, have been using the Hercules wall hangers for all my basses, with absoluteley no issues for 5 or 6 years. Thanks! That one is an '83, and kind of unusual with its maple facings...henry5 wrote: Yeah, the Distillate is lovely.
Always liked the simplified Distillate control layout. Nice for live use- not overly fiddly.
That looks slick!Ashgray wrote:Another clever product which I've been using for the last couple of years isn't technically a stand at all: http://www.markbass.it/product_detail.php?id=54
Much easier than the approach I had taken... mounting one of those Hercules hangers to my cab
It worked good, but I got rid of the top cab years ago. That setup was overkill for most situations (not to mention a beast to cart around)

I raise my hat to your good taste in gear. I just love and live by the Orange 200B. What a superb amp.chromium wrote:Colonel Sanders wrote: Nice collection!

A Distillate and a Thunderbird are the two beasts I am still looking to hang on my walls.

I'd love to see this kind of thing with the Woodies Hanger, though instead comprised of RIC instruments:
