Brightest flatwound strings to keep that rounds Ric tone?

Looking for the brightest flats that won't kill my 4003 neck-tensionwise.

I use LaBella 760FL and I like the tension but they are a little dull toned and I want some more brightness for that Ric bite/tone but less fingernoise than rounds. Gotta be flats. Must be silent-no finger squeltch.

Don't mention TI's - too expensive (I wont spend that much on a set) and reportedly floppy.

Chromes Super Soft set, and ideally, replace the .060 D string with a single .055. This produces a better balanced feeling set and are nice and low in tension, a bit more than that of TI JFs.

EB Cobalt flats are the best......long time chrome and EB flats user. Feel like flats, sound like rounds.

Fender flats, 9050L.

Use these on my 4001 - they keep the Ric tone - in fact, I wouldn't use anything else on mine.

And what about the new Dunlop Super Bright flats? Haven't tried them yet, but they could meet your expectations?

Definitely Chromes. I +1 Jeff's suggestion for Super Soft gauges, but I keep the .060'' D string and like it just fine.

Have you ever tried the chromes on your fretless?
I've tried about 6 different string sets on my Cii since i had it defretted,and i can't seem to find anything i like from top to bottom. I have chromes on both my fretted Fenders (p&j),and they might as well be 2 completely different string sets for the differences in the way they sound.
I think chromes might help with at least some of the aural issues i have with my Cii.

ECB80 - Long Scale 40-095: .040 .060 .075 .095
I was looking at bassstrings online,they also sell individual strings,with several gauges to choose from.
I'm thinking 40-55-70-90. (Or possibly 95 for the E).
I have the ecb84 set (40-60-80-100) on my Precision,and there is no mention on the packaging anywhere of "soft". They feel great,sound good,but are very bright. I'm thinking (hoping) that might work nicely on the Cii.
